Radical Change – a Season of Prayer

A season of prayer within the Church of Scotland has started and will run through until November. The focus is on the “radical change” that is being planned in response to the instruction of the General Assembly earlier this year.

As we pray, to quote the Moderator, Colin Sinclair, may we ask God to “Inspire us to take risks, to creatively and courageously be Your church today: looking to You in worship” and “Let us renew our commitment to follow You as we step out in glad obedience.”

Please uphold Colin as Moderator, all those who serve on Councils and Committees, the Trustees of the Church and the staff who work day by day within the Church.

These are challenging times and it would be easy to retreat into our comfort zone and yearn for “how things were”.

But God is a God of eternity, He is as alive and relevant in today’s society as in the past. His holiness and righteousness are unchanged as are His grace, love and mercy to all who will renounce their fallen, sinful life and accept, through faith, His offer of salvation.

Please pray for Christians in local congregations across the land to know the power of God and to be energised in their life and witness.

Ask God to strengthen us all in a desire to be true to His Word and to faithfully follow Christ in these times.
